Butter and Banana Waffle Recipe

First of all, heat the dulce de leche into a saucepan over medium heat, stirring frequently until it’s melted. Gradually add ½ cup of milk, enough to make a sauce that you can pour. Remove it from the heat but keep it warm. Now grease a waffle iron and preheat it.

Secondly, melt 4 tablespoons of butter into a saucepan, then add the cups of milk, egg yolks and vanilla. Into a large bowl, sift the sugar, flour, salt and baking powder. Add in the milk mixture and whisk until they combine. Into another bowl, beat the egg whites until soft peaks start forming. Scatter banana slices on top, then scoop the mixture over into the batter.

Lastly, ladle a bit of batter over into the waffle grid, close the lid and cook until the waffle is golden brown. The cooking time will depend on the type of waffle iron. Usually, you should cook until steam is no longer coming out the sides of the iron. Transfer the waffle onto a place and continue until you have no more batter left. Serve with dulche de leche sauce and a nugget of butter on top. This is the type of dessert that you can serve with chocolate sauce or Nutella, but it is already plenty sweet on its own.
