Oily skin can be a drag and with the accumulated excess oil, a number of problems sprout: whiteheads, blackhead, pimples and skin irritations. If there’s a silver lining to it, those of you with oily skin will, possibly, develop fewer wrinkles at old age. So it’s not all doom and gloom! Caused by genetics, dietary choices or too much stress, oily skin occurs at any age, from puberty to adulthood.
Here Here are some of the best remedies for oily skin that you can try:
Egg whites. With high concentrations of vitamin A, egg whites can significantly improve skin dryness and tighten its texture. All you’ll have to do is beat one egg white and apply it directly onto your skin. You can also mix it with lemon juice and leave it for a good fifteen minutes before rinsing it off with warm water.
Lemon juice. With astringent and antiseptic properties, lemon juice can improve your skin’s pH balance and lighten any skin discolorations that you may suffer from. All you’ll have to do is combine fresh lemon juice with distilled water and apply it on your skin. You can also mix lemon juice with honey and milk and apply the mixture onto the targeted area for fifteen minutes before rinsing it off with cold water.
Yogurt. The lactic acid present in yogurt will exfoliate your skin and absorb the excess oil from it. All you’ll have to do is apply the fresh yogurt over your face and leave it on for fifteen minutes before rinsing it off with cool water. You can also mix yogurt with ground oatmeal and honey and apply the mixture on your face fifteen minutes before rinsing it off with warm water.
Tomatoes. With potent cooling, clarifying and astringent properties, tomatoes are very good if you have acne-prone skin. All you’ll have to do is rub half a tomato on your skin and let the juice soak into your skin for at least fifteen minutes before rinsing it off with cold water.
Cucumbers. With astringent and soothing properties, cucumbers are very beneficial to oily skin.
