How to Make an Egg Frittata
If you are low o time, then an egg frittata can save your dinner or lunch. It takes no more than 20 minutes to make, which is good news when you are hungry. As long as you have some vegetables and maybe a little meat, you are set. Here is how you can make your own frittata at home. From the following list, you can choose up to 4 ingredients, and combine them however you see fit:
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 medium potato, diced
- 12 ounces of mushrooms
- 1 cup of broccoli
- 2 sausages
- 1 cup of shredded chicken
- 1 cup of cooked rice
- 3 tsp of spices such as: basil, thyme, oregano, cumin, chili powder
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 tbsp of kosher salt
For the eggs:
- 1/2 cup of shredded cheese (optional)
- 6 to 8 large eggs
How to Make an egg Frittata
First of all, heat up your oven to 400 degrees F. If the meat that you’re using is raw, make sure to cook it into a nonstick frying pan. Cook the chosen vegetables by adding a little bit of cooking oil, starting with the ones that take longer to cook. This means onions or potatoes, and end with mushrooms or peppers. Add in the meat at the end and cook until it’s warm.
Secondly, because you will mix your ingredients with eggs, you want them to have enough seasoning. Add whatever spices you want, then let them cook for a minutes. Add more according to taste. They should taste strong but not overly so. Sprinkle cheese on top and let it melt.
Whisk your eggs together and pour them over the vegetables in the pan. Tilt the pan to spread the eggs so that they cover everything. Cook for a minute or two. Put the pan into the warm oven and bake for 10 minutes. You can cut a small piece of the egg frittata to see how far along it is.
Lastly, remove it from the oven and then slice it into wedges to serve it. You can even keep the leftovers in the fridge for up to one week.
