  • 1 and ½ cups of brown sugar
  • 6 tbsp of cold butter
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 4 apples, cored and peeled, cut into 8 pieces
  • 2 tsp of baking powder
  • 1 and ½ cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp of pumpkin spice
  • ½ cup of of butter (one stick)
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • whipped cream (optional)

Salted Caramel Apple Cake

First of all, begin by heating up your oven to 350 degrees F. Take a round cake pan and butter up the bottom of it with a little bit of butter. Sprinkle it with ½ cup of brown sugar and sea salt then set your pan aside.

Take the remaining butter and heat it up in a large skillet over medium heat. Once it’s heated up, add the apples and saute them for about 15 minutes until they become tender. Now, in a large bowl, pour together your pumpkin spice, flour, baking powder and salt. Take a second bowl and beat in the butter along with some sugar until the mixture is smooth. Beat in your eggs, one at a time, the add vanilla extract.

Secondly, take your dry ingredients and add them over the butter mixture gradually. Continue stirring and scraping the sides of the bowl until everything is incorporated. Take your apples and spread them over the bottom of the pan. Spread the batter over them then bake everything at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Lastly, take a serving plate and put it over the top of the pan. Turn the pan upside down and take out the apple cake onto your plate. You can serve your cake with whipped cream and a pinch of cinnamon.
