3 Methods to Use Shea Butter for Acne Scars

Raw Shea butter means that it is not processed in any way. One of the drawbacks of this issue is the fact that you may find bits of Shea nut in it. The color of the butter will depend on the type of nut and it ranges from off white to yellow. Now that we are clear on that, let us see how you can use Shea butter for acne scars. There are a couple of methods that you can use for this:

Method One. The simplest method to use Shea butter for acne scars is as a moisturizer. Whenever you clean your face, pat it dry and then use a tiny amount of raw butter. Rub it between your palms and deeply massage it into your face.

Method Two. You can also use this method as an acne scar treatment. It works even if you have big or a few acne scars. Dab the spots just a little with a clean finger or a q-tip with some Shea butter on them. I recommend applying this treatment during the night time. This is when the skin regenerates itself best.

Method Three. This is a method that is more potent, but it requires a bit more of your time. You can make your own acne scar treatment with only a few ingredients. Here is what you will need:

  • 5 drops of lavender essential oil
  • 3 drops of lemon essential oil
  • 1 tbsp. raw Shea butter

Directions

First of all, place a tablespoon of raw Shea butter into a medium sized bowl. Use a whisk to stir vigorously, to give it a creamy consistency. Add in the essential oils and then stir again. Now it’s ready! Scoop it out and place it in a clean container. Use it every night for your acne scars. Instead of using a whisk you can also use a small blender. However, do take note that it will smell of essential oils afterwards.

To sum up, this is how you use Shea butter for acne scars. Choose any of the methods listed above and see how it works for you!
